I’m Nikki, a qualified counsellor with extensive experience supporting individuals, families, parents, adolescents and teens through life’s more challenging seasons.
My background spans many years of work in the mental health and community services sector, including agency-based work alongside families and young people with complex needs. I also bring extensive experience working with children in schools and other educational settings, which has given me a deep understanding of child and adolescent development, learning environments, and the everyday pressures faced by young people and parents. Over time, I’ve seen how much pressure people carry, often quietly, while trying to do their best for themselves and those they love.
Living Counselling was created as a space where people can slow things down, speak honestly, and feel genuinely supported. My work is informed not only by professional training, but also by lived experience. As an online counsellor, I work with clients across Australia, offering thoughtful, client-centred support that fits into real life.
I engage in ongoing professional development and clinical supervision in line with Australian Counselling Association ethical guidelines.
Growing up as an army child, I experienced frequent moves and the sense of disruption, adjustment and resilience that often comes with them. I also have lived experience of navigating blended family dynamics. These experiences shape how I understand change, belonging and relationships, and they inform the care and sensitivity I bring to my work.
I work with individuals, families, parents and teens because relationships matter, and when they’re under strain, everything feels harder.
You might be:
My role is not to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you as you make sense of what’s happening and find ways forward that feel right for you.
My counselling approach is warm, practical and collaborative. I work from a client-centred counselling framework, meaning your experiences, values and goals guide our work together.
As a family counsellor and adolescent counsellor, I place strong emphasis on:
I draw on evidence-based therapeutic approaches and adapt my work to suit each individual, family or young person. Counselling is not about quick fixes, it’s about meaningful, sustainable change.
All sessions at Living Counselling are offered via online therapy Australia-wide.
Online counselling allows you to:
While Living Counselling is based in Australia and offers online counselling Australia-wide, I am also open to working with clients living outside of Australia, where this is appropriate and aligned with professional and ethical guidelines. Online counselling makes it possible to access meaningful support across locations, while remaining grounded in an Australian counselling framework.
Sessions are calm, respectful and paced to suit you. Whether we’re working individually or as a family, you can expect a space that is supportive, non-judgemental and focused on your wellbeing.

Reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, especially if you’re used to coping on your own. You don’t need to have the right words or a clear plan before starting.
If you’re looking for a qualified online counsellor, offering online therapy in Australia for individuals, families, parents and teens, you’re welcome to get in touch.
I’d be honoured to support you.
